911DA Story: Story

I am a night worker and I remember the time would have been around 2pm UK time. I had worked the previous night and so I was asleep. My Husband came and woke me and said that I must come and look at the TV because two planes had hit the world trade centre. I spent the next 5 hours glued to the screen as the story unfolded before me. I went to work that night in a sombre mood. The following day I bought every UK newspaper, read them from cover to cover and then placed them all in plastic bags and put them away.If I ever have children of my own I will take them out one day and let them see the full horror of what happened that day.
From across the Atlantic we here in England can never understand the full horror of what New York and America went through that day but the imagination is bad enough.Tomorrow is the year Anniversary of the tragedy and my friend and I will travel into London to the US embassy in Grosvenor Square for a memorial service. Rest assured that as far afield as the UK tomorrow at 1:46 UK time the country will take part in a minutes silence and we will all be thinking of you and your loss.
To all those who lost loved ones, the UK grieves with you.
May they never, ever be forgotten.

God Bless you all.
