Tragedy
Tuesday September 11, 2001. Terrorist attacked our nation. I was in Barker Central School sitting in Earth Science talking to my friends when I over heard my teachers saying that a plane had just flown into the World Trade Center. It was around 8:00 in the morning. I was only 15 years old and had no clue what the World Trade Center were until I say the building show up on the TV. and then we saw the second plane fly into the building. The news showed people jumping for their lives because they had no way out of the burring buildings. Then the bottom of the screen said pentagon on fire. Then they showed the mall and all of the smoke coming from it. They could not show us the actual buildings because no planes were allowed over Washington D.C. and they could no get up to the buildings. To be on the safe side they evacuated all of the major government buildings.
The president of the United States was in Florida. They flew him back to the white house then took him to a safe spot to hide for a little bit. There was another plane that crashed in Pennsylvania that they thought people tried to fight back with. The planes that hit the towers were going to California so they knew that they were full of fuel. When I first heard about all of this I thought that it was not real but it just never went away and I just figured out that it would not go away. It was real as real as real can be. An hour after the planes had crashed the buildings fell to the ground because of weak structure. The heat from the fire weakened the structure. Some three hundred rescue workers were crushed not all of them have been found. During this tragic incident 19,ooo people were injured killed or missing. Hey showed the building burning and people running for their lives. They said that some people called home because they could not get home because they were on the top floors of the buildings. About eight hours later the world trade center building seven and fallen because the structure had also been weakened.
The day afterwards it was the talk of the country. When I heard that the pentagon had been hit I was worried because my aunt had told me she was going to get a job there but she did not. What was really shocking was that the plane that went into the pentagon was meant for the White House. The date that the attacks happened was 9-11-01. (nine one one) 911. That was so shocking that they used our own planes as weapons and innocent live as bait. They used a plane as a weapon something that barely anyone would thing of as being a weapon. But as you begin to think about it people are saying that we had warnings but not saying exactly what they were going to do. Just saying that they were going to attack the Unites States. That this would happen but we just ignored it. But I guess we should have tacking some notice to that because we could have prevented this if we just would have started to be more secure about the way we do things. Now months later we are checking people in the airports they have to take off their shoes to get checked. They also have to go through a tremendous amount of security. If you want to fly somewhere you have to get to the airport at least an hour early. There are troops in Afghanistan; they have been there for a long time now. They thing Asmo Bin Laden is dead but they don't know for sure. The news is saying that they are trying to get DNA samples from his family to find out. I personally do not think that this should not have happened because we did not go over there and bomb them because of their religion. We can get over and past that. The fact that they killed innocent people and people from other nations are is just wrong they should have never done this.
