911DA Story: Story

I will never forget that morning. I was sitting in first hour with only minutes till the bell was to ring and I'd be off to another hour of Chemistry. A teacher walked in at 8:58 and asked if we had our television on. Since we did not she said in a very sad voice "A plane has hit the World Trade Center and there has been an explosion at the pentagon." At that time what had occured to at the pentago was still unknown. The bell rang two minutes later and talked buzzed in the hall way. No one knew what was going on so it was more of a "Did you hear that something happened" conversation. I walked into second hour and everyone was sitting on their desks watching the t.v. There was pictures of the the tower, those pictures that burn in our heads forever. We sat in horror and starred in disbelief as we saw the plane hit the second tower. No one knew how to cope. We went through the day watching television or sitting in the commons with eachother. No one could comprehend. I went home and tried to call my father who lives overseas and I couldn't get through. It was scary. A year later I still cry at the mention of that day. i have searched my heart for reasons of why this would happen and I still cannot find it. I am unable to fathom how hate could fester in one's heart. Since I can not cope with the past, I look to the future. Of what I can do in this life to help. And at the current day. We need to love eachother and care for one another. I apprecaite more, I know what I have now. That day has changed me forever.
