911DA Story: Story
I was sitting at my desk at work when one of my colleagues came into the office informing us that a plane had crashed in America. At first I thought, "God how awful" and continued with my work.
A little while later it emerged that another plane had crashed and that it could well be a terrorist attack.
I didn't quite understand what was happening, but was quite eager to get home to watch the news to get the full story.
My dad was glued to 'Sky news' when i got home.
I sat down and was amazed and shocked at the scenes I was watching.
Planes crashing into the towers, smoke, fire, firemen everywhere....It was just so sad.
It's coming up to the 2nd anniversary of 9/11 and it stil only feels like it happened yesterday.
One of my best friends visited America for 6 months this year and couldn't bring herself to go to where the twin towers once stood. I don't know if I could, although I would love to go there to pay my respects to those who died, and especially thoses who died saving others.
I just hope we never witness anything as horrific and unjustified as this, ever again.
