I was asleep in bed because I was bartending until late the night before. My roomate Brian knocked on the door and said, "Get up, turn on the tv!" I thought the world was ending. That was my original thought as I jumped out of bed. I turned on the tv and was horrified. I had just missed the second plane hitting live. But, the taped version was enough for me. I immediately started praying. I wondered, I'm sure like all Americans, who did this, why they did it and what was next. I saw people jumping from windows holding hands. How anyone could not want to defend our country after this maniacal attack is beyond me. I have supported my firefighters, police, troops and President Bush through all of this. How quickly we forget. As a young American, I am disgusted by some of the attitudes Americans have. I cannot erase those images or that day from my mind. I didn't lose anyone I knew in the attack, but I still feel like it was a personal attack on me and everyone that lives in this great country. If people can't realize that then they should go live somewhere else.
