911DA Story: Story
INTERVIEW WITH NANCY DUPREE, AN AMERICAN WOMAN WHO'S BEEN LIVING IN AFGHANISTAN SINCE THE LATE 50S, AND CURRENTLY RUNS AN AID ORGANIZATION THERE.
( This interview was recorded by Ricardo Lobo at the Pakistan/Afghanistan border for the video documentary "The Twin Towers of Islam", an investigation into the ordinary Muslims' reaction to the 9/11 events )
" One of the first things I thought when I saw the pictures of the World Trade Center, I said : so much hate, the depth of the hate that caused this, it?s unbelievable that someone could hate so much, to plan carefully for so long. Where?s that hate coming from? That?s what we have to get at. We are just creating more hate. We are arrogant. The West is arrogant. We look upon the rest of the world as something to play with, to manipulate. I don?t think that what happened in New York was totally against the United States. It?s against the symbolism of global trade, global disdain for the conditions of other countries."
