NMAH Story: Story
On September 11th I first heard about the attack when I returned from our school pictures. It turned out that I actually took my picture right as the plane hit the first building. Later I heard that a seccond building was hit. When I returned home from school, I witnessed the tragic event I first thought to be a hoax. There in that exact spot, I remained in awe of the sheer magnitude of the event for a couple of hours.
NMAH Story: Life Changed
Since September 11th I have been questioned about being Muslim. However,do not be fooled, all of the questions were in trying to understand my religion and not out of hatred. My mother who is the Public Relations volenteer of the Islamic Society of Tulsa has worked day and night on with the news organizations and local people to ensure that Muslims here in Tulsa and around the globe would not condone such an act of hatred.
NMAH Story: Remembered
I think that all Americans should remember our faith. Not just our faith in God, but our faith in each other to strive forward to ensure the saftey and love of our fellow citizens. Also we should remember our preachers, pastors, imams, and rabbis for all of there effort to strengthen, and redeem if needed, our faith in religion.
