NMAH Story NMAH Story: Story How did you witness history on September 11th? Share your experience. I just could not understand why anyone would make such a massive attack on the United States. I was in shop class when the twin towers were struck by the planes. I remember my teacher Mr. Todd come in and flip the power switch for all the power equipment to shut off. I could see a sort of scared/sadness look in his eyes when he tried to explain what was going on. I will never forget looking at the television screen and watching the victims bodies as they ran through the streets, covered with a gray ash and the tears of terror that shed from their eyes. I was shocked from the event that had taken place. Our class started disscusing what was going on when someone yelled at us to look at the screen, we looked up just in time to watch the second plane strike the other tower. I could not imagine what the people that were in the towers felt. Some probably did not feel a thing, they were the lucky ones in my opinion. After the attacks I wanted to join the Army National Guard, wich I did do by the way, I wanted to help this country out, even if I was not born here. I prayed that I would get drafted or something so I could go overseas. NMAH Story: Life Changed Has your life changed because of September 11, 2001? If so, tell us how. I think my life has changed a lot after Sept.11, 2001. I learned to appriciate everyday more and more. I guess my favorite quote is, "you never know what you have until you loose it". NMAH Story: Remembered What do you think should be remembered about September 11th? We should remember all the victims, the families that lost a lovedone. We should remember the children who lost either a mother or a father, but most of all, we should remember the children god gave us on that day of Sept.11. NMAH Story: Flag Did you fly an American flag after the events of September 11th? Have your feelings about the American flag changed as a result of September 11th? My family is from Mexico so we had a flag for our country. After Sept.11 we started flying an american flag.
