NMAH Story NMAH Story: Story How did you witness history on September 11th? Share your experience. When I first heard about the attacks on September 11th, I was in my second period History class. Another teacher from the school came into my classroom and said that a plane had crashed into one of the Twin Towers. Everyone was in shock immediately, and when the television was turned on, it hurt to see the black smoke billowing from the first tower. I went on to third period and saw the second plane hit the other tower. It was very shocking to see this happen to our great nation. The rest of the day was spent watching the news and finding out more information about what had occurred. NMAH Story: Life Changed Has your life changed because of September 11, 2001? If so, tell us how. My life has definitely changed because of September 11, 2001. Our nation has been in a higher state of security ever since the attacks occurred. People are still morning over the deaths of loved ones that they lost on September 11th. It is sad to see the children that were born on September 11th and never got to see their mom or dad. September 11th was a tragic day, and it has greatly changed everyone's life. NMAH Story: Remembered What do you think should be remembered about September 11th? I think that the people that were killed during September 11th and the great symbol of the Twin Towers should be remembered about September 11th. Americans should always remember the firefighters that gave their lives to save others from the collapsing towers that day. I think Americans should always remember how our nation came together and coped with the pair. Our nation united together on September 11th and because of that, we were able to survive. NMAH Story: Flag Did you fly an American flag after the events of September 11th? Have your feelings about the American flag changed as a result of September 11th? On Septemeber 11th, my family and I put the American flag on our flagpole in remembrance of the events that occured that day. The American flag has become more of a symbol of our country and the unity of the people that occured that day. September 11th is a day that should never be forgotten, and it is certainly the worst tragedy ever to occur in my life.
