NMAH Story NMAH Story: Story How did you witness history on September 11th? Share your experience. I was all packed and ready to head for the Sacramento Airport in California. A round trip flight to Albuquerque, NM to visit my brother for the first time in almost 7 years. I put my suitcases by the door and turned on the television and saw what was happening, was horrified but it all seemed so unreal. I then heard the fact that all planes were grounded and I remember feeling so disappointed. After watching TV for the next 3 days straight...I finally realized not everything was about me, and was horrified at the comprehension of the loss of life and families and everything. I recently went to the site while on vacation and I was in silent awe. It should be designated as holy ground, there are still spirits there.
