NMAH Story NMAH Story: Story How did you witness history on September 11th? Share your experience. I was in my sixth grade music class. As we were leaving, teahcers were whispering about a serious bomb. It was aggravating not knowing what was going on. Soon, various teachers began interupting classes and pulling our teacher out into the hall. Talk about frustraitng. Finally, a few students begged and begged to be clued in. Later, we wished we had never known The World Trade Centers had been attacked. Several were injured, some already dead. A TV was pulled into the classroom, and we watched as despereate people jumped from over 11 stories high. Fighfighters kept entering the building, but hardly any came out. We watched as the second plane hit, and the first tower collapsed. Then we heard about the Pentagon. It was all too much, we turned the TV off. NMAH Story: Life Changed Has your life changed because of September 11, 2001? If so, tell us how. Since I'm only a teenager, I'm guessing that I don't fully understand the conseqeunces of September 11th. But what I know, is that manuy people were hurt. Many people lost loved ones. Personally, I can't imgaine losing my parents, friends or relatives. I can understand their pain though, in a small, puny sort of way. And that, that alone, has changed me. NMAH Story: Remembered What do you think should be remembered about September 11th? 25 years from now, I'm going to look back on on this. So self, remember the way that America came together. We didn't collapse the way that they wanted and expected us to. But rather, we developed a strong bond, held together buy love, hope, pride, and freedom. And now, we can truly call our selves the UNITED States of America. NMAH Story: Flag Did you fly an American flag after the events of September 11th? Have your feelings about the American flag changed as a result of September 11th? My family flew an American Flag outside of our house. Before September 11th, 2001, I looked at an American Flag without feeling. Sure, it was my flag, our flag, but so what? I mean yeah, my ancestors fought for my rights, yada yada yada, But I couldn't truly understand that. Now after seeing all of the pain that erupted from September 11th, I can understand. I finally get it, and now i look at the flag with respect. I feel blessed to be able to say that its my flag, OUR flag.
