When I first heard about the Twin Towers being attacked, iI was walking down the hallway of my school. One of my friends came up to me and tole me that there was an attack on america in Washington D.C. and New York City. When I got to the next class, we watched the news and I saw what complete chaos NYC had become. Also on the news I saw the Pentagon and one of its ruined sides. When I came home from school that day i called my friend and she was very upset because her mom's ex husband was the pilot of the airplane that crashed into the pentagon. Her half sister was being interviewed by news stations and her whole family was a wreck. i told her to come over and we just sat and watched the news for a little bit together,. I really didn't know what to say or do for her. the only thing I could do was to be with her. Her 5 year old nephew, the pilot's grandson, was also extremely upset because he understood that his poppop was dead. NMAH Story: Life Changed Has your life changed because of September 11, 2001? If so, tell us how. My life has changed somewhat because I am now aware that no matter how great a country is, bad things can still happen. NMAH Story: Remembered What do you think should be remembered about September 11th? I think that the people who died in the September 11th tragedy should be remembered most. Also, the firefighters, policeman, and the clean up crew should be remembered. There were heroes in thse builings who were trying to save other people instead of themselves, and they should be remembered most oa all. NMAH Story: Flag Did you fly an American flag after the events of September 11th? Have your feelings about the American flag changed as a result of September 11th? Yes, when I got home there was an American flag flying out front. My feelings about the American flag have changed because now when I look at it i think of what a great and strong vountry we are, and no matter what America will always be strong.
