911DA Story: Story

I remember the speculation of what was going on when the first plane hit, then the second plane, then the Pentagon. By then, there was no more speculation. Our place of employment sent us all home. As we were leaving, the first tower fell. I rode home with a co-worker in somber silence. As I picked my daughter up from daycare I listened to the radio and listened in horror as the second tower fell. I made it home to wake my husband (he worked third shift). We sat the rest of the day, watching with the rest of the nation the horror of that day. When our other two children came home from school they flooded us with questions, they watched everything happen on TV. It was very hard to explain to our 5 grader and our 1 grader exactly what was going on. For a time, they were frightened, and at a time when you are also frightened, it is sometimes very hard to comfort your children. But we found comfort and solice in the Word of God, explaining that God has a reason for everything and the only thing we could do is trust in God's infinite wisdom and plan in our lives.
