I could hear the fear in his voice and the first thing he said was Nick was okay.I thought to myself,"why is he telling me our son is okay?" Our son was getting ready to start his first day at work at the new Ritz Carlton a couple of blocks from the World Trade Center. He had not left to catch the Path to take him to the WTC. He would have gotten of at the WTC and walked to the hotel from there. I couldn't watch anything on television that day because I didn't want to frighten my Kindergrten class.I finally did get a call from my son and I couldn't imagine all of the Moms that didn't get a phone call that. day . That day was my husband's business partner's birthday.His name is William Terry Copeland.His initials: WTC. NMAH Story: Life Changed Has your life changed because of September 11, 2001? Yes.Needless to say my son's job never happened but they did offer him a job the next April.He now lives in Battery Park ;about three blocks from Ground Zero.Every time I visit my son I always go over to Ground Zero to pay my respects.
