My carpool told us that there had been some sort of bombing at the World Trade Centers. I knew it was bad but not how horrible it actually turned out to be. My mom was the first to react; she had known people who had worked there at one time. At school we watched the news and talked about the attacks almost all day. The nation has become more united and patriotic. What I dont like is how the media has used September 11 to tell us to buy this or do this because it is patriotic. I think that the most important thing to be remembered about September 11 is how the nation banded together and became stronger. The American flag has definitely changed. It is displayed everywhere. In school, almost every classroom has a flag. I have mixed feelings about the flag; it almost doesnt seem as special now that it is displayed everywhere.
