NMAH Story NMAH Story: Story How did you witness history on September 11th? Share your experience. During school on Sept. 11,2001 I was in third period when my teacher got a note for the office saying one of the twin towers had be hit. Us students didn't think anything of it because we thought we didn't even know want the twin towers were and it was happening in New York so why should we be concerned about it. Later that morning the teachers got another email/note from the office this time it was the second twin tower. Now i was acting serious I was wondering what was happening to us , why was it happening to us. I just didn't understand. Finally the last period of the day the teachers got their last email and it said the pentagon was hit. At that time I was freaking out because not even a week later I was going to go to Washington D.C for our class trip. It was a terrible tragedy that I went through and that everyone went through. For the rest of that day I watched the news to try to find out what really happened. NMAH Story: Life Changed Has your life changed because of September 11, 2001? If so, tell us how. It hasn't changed a whole lot but it has changed for the better. NMAH Story: Remembered What do you think should be remembered about September 11th? I think firefighters, the men, and woman that went into the twin towers to try to save as many people as possible. This day should become a holiday. The whole day should become a tribute to everyone that was in this tragedy and everyone else should put a flag and flowers on places that they people think we should remember about that day. NMAH Story: Flag Did you fly an American flag after the events of September 11th? Have your feelings about the American flag changed as a result of September 11th? Yes, I did wave the American flag after Sept.11th. Yes, they have changed. I respect my country more then ever.
