NMAH Story NMAH Story: Story How did you witness history on September 11th? Share your experience. I remember I was coming out of the class I was in before my spanish class. I was walking to my locker to get my books for the class and I heard a guy yell, "A plane smashed into the twin towers!" No one really thought anything of it since people always scream weird jokes in the hallways during the day, until we got to our next classes and saw someone crying or saw our teacher watching a news station on tv with a look of concern. It was sort of unreal...I thought, "How could this be happening?" But then reality sunk in as all that night we heard and saw terrifying details on the news. I remember that after I got home my father and I went to church and we prayed... NMAH Story: Life Changed Has your life changed because of September 11, 2001? If so, tell us how. My life has changed since Sept. 11 because it gave me a realization of how precious life is and you will never know when death will strike. Usually when something terrible happens it brings people closer together...and that is what happened with Americans. We're now united more than ever as one nation UNDER GOD. NMAH Story: Remembered What do you think should be remembered about September 11th? I think we should remember the people that died and the people that gave their lives to stop the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania. It was a display of American bravery at it's best, just like the people that fight in our army, navy, and air force. We should remember the pain that so many families felt and use that pain to bond together in pride for our great country. NMAH Story: Flag Did you fly an American flag after the events of September 11th? Have your feelings about the American flag changed as a result of September 11th? Yes, my family had the flag flying after what happened. We were accually building our house, and we had a flag half as big as our house hanging from the roof as we finished building our home. My feelings about the flag have changed since Sept. 11...it's a symbol of the unity that our country has, our pride, and our strength because we will never let anything keep us down.
