NMAH Story NMAH Story: Story How did you witness history on September 11th? Share your experience. The first time I heard about the attacks was in 4th period health class. I didn't believe it at first because it just didn't seem logical. But when I saw the news 6th period, it hit me. When I got home I watched the news again with my mom. Later in the month, my Uncle Bob brought pictures to my house. He was working across the river when the attacks happened. Most of the pictures were of ground zero. NMAH Story: Life Changed Has your life changed because of September 11, 2001? If so, tell us how. Yes, I would say my life changed. I think I appreciate things more than I did. I don't take things that people do for me for granted anymore. I realized that death can happen to you at any moment in time even though some people would like to believe that life will end when we're ready for it to. So, I try to make the most of my time here on earth. NMAH Story: Remembered What do you think should be remembered about September 11th? I think that the fact that September 11th made Americans boast our pride of being american even more should be remembered. We cried and some of us are still crying but deep down we know now more than ever that we can prove to terrorists that we are not as afraid of them as they think we are. Most of all, I think that all of the people, the firemen and policemen, the employees and flight passengers, should be remembered. NMAH Story: Flag Did you fly an American flag after the events of September 11th? Have your feelings about the American flag changed as a result of September 11th? No, we didn't fly a flag after September 11th. The reason why is because we already had had a flag flying. It may have been small but it was still a flag and I think all of the people that flew flags after September 11th should've been prouder to be an American before the tragedy happened. I mean, I think it's wonderful that they all invested in a flag, but they should've had it before the fact.
