NMAH Story NMAH Story: Story How did you witness history on September 11th? Share your experience. I was late for school and I had heard people talking about about a plane crashing and i thought it was no big deal. I had spanish first period and when i walked in the class the first thing i looked at was the tv. On the tv was plane crashing into a building and at first i thought it was a movie that the teacher had put in. Then i realized it was the news and what i had heard was true. I couldnt believe it. Of course i thought the best and i thought that there was just a malfunction in the plane. When i found out that someone had hi-jaked the plane i was scared for all the people that were effected. While i was in 2nd period the 2nd plane hit the other tower and i was in shock. During 3rd period is when i found out the flight numbers and where the planes where coming and scheduled to go to. My dad was on a business trip at the time and i was scared that he was on one of the planes. I started crying and was able to call my dad to see if he was ok. He was and i thank god for that. But i still cried. I cried for all of the people who died and i cried for all of the peoples families. But the worst hadnt even started. When the towers fell i didnt know what to say. After school that day i went home and talked to my mom and family about what had happened. It wa scary and emotional. I had gotten a call from my best friend who said that her baby cousin and Aunt were on the 1st plane. She was hysterical and i didnt know what to tell her. i cried for her and tried to comfort her. The next day of school was a day for mourning. Everyone was still in shock and all we did in every class was talk about it and watch the news. We were all scared that there was more to come. It was a day that i will never forget and my heart goes out to all those who lost someone they loved. NMAH Story: Life Changed Has your life changed because of September 11, 2001? If so, tell us how. I have been a frequent flyer for 3 years because my parents live in different states. After Septemeber 11, i was scared to fly. Even though the security at te airports are tight, i am still to this day afraid that something is going to happen. I also am very dissapointed in the US government because we should have caught Osama and punished him for taking the lives of thousands of innocent people. Its not fair. I am also changed because i am always thining that something is going to happen. Especially tommorrow. A year from the disaster, and i am still scared and sad about what happened. I hope that nothing happens and i think i will always be kinda scared every time i fly. NMAH Story: Remembered What do you think should be remembered about September 11th? I think that the most important thing that should be remembered about Sept 11 are the lives that were lost. They were just innocent people trying to get some where and they had done nothing wrong. We should also remember that the US should be united at all times, not just in a time of crisis. It wasnt right what happened and i will forever remember the brave souls that tried to fight back, and the men and women who died trying to save us. NMAH Story: Flag Did you fly an American flag after the events of September 11th? Have your feelings about the American flag changed as a result of September 11th? No i didnt fly an american flag, because all of the stores where sold out. I was amazed at how many people were showing their pride and flying their flags high. I never hd a chance to but one, but i will definitly be flying one tommorrow, the 1 year rememberance.
