NMAH Story NMAH Story: Story How did you witness history on September 11th? Share your experience. On September 11, 2001 I was in my Biology class when I heard what had happened. We were leaving class when another teacher came in and told my teacher what had happened. When I got to my next class which was NJROTC (Naval Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps), we watched the news to hear the story on what had happened. We turned off the TV and continued with class, so I didn't hear about the second plane. As I went through the rest of my school day none of my teachers let us watch TV, so I didn't hear anything else. When I got to my Social Studies class I remembered that my dad was flying to Washington D.C. that morning. I hadn't heard where the flights started, so I didn't know if he was one of those flights. So when I got home I watched the news and I heard that another plane had hit the second tower and they collapsed. I also heard that another plane hit the Pentagon and one crashed in Pennsylvania. It wasn't until 9:00 pm that my dad called and said that he was safe in his hotel. NMAH Story: Life Changed Has your life changed because of September 11, 2001? If so, tell us how. Have your feelings about the American flag changed as a result of September 11th? On September 11, 2001 T flew the flag like I do every day before and after. My feelings toward the flag have always been respectful, but after September 11 I realized that we are not completely safe. I also realized how grateful we are to live in this country.
