NMAH Story NMAH Story: Story How did you witness history on September 11th? Share your experience. I had taken the day off for my 10 year old's dental appointment. As we, my daughter and I, were heading home we heard some very odd information on the radio. It seemed to strange to be real. I actually listened in disbelief. We arrived home and turned on the television set to find the horrible details unfolding before our eyes. It was true! My daughter was due to return to school, but I chose to keep her home. I then went and checked my niece, a kindergarten student, out of school. Why? We could spend the rest of the day talking, watching, and waiting. A couple of days later, during a hurricane, my daughter and I searched for an open church in hopes of publicly acknowledging our faith that WE would rise above all of this! NMAH Story: Life Changed Has your life changed because of September 11, 2001? If so, tell us how. Yes, life has changed. The small stuff seems so insignificant. I try to focus on the bigger picture. What truly is important in this life? Some people had no choice on that fateful day. What could have been going through their minds? I wonder what parents told their children on the planes? Those kinds of thoughts continue through my mind. So many lives have changed. NMAH Story: Remembered What do you think should be remembered about September 11th? Each and every life that was lost, as well as, all lives that were directly or indirectly touched should be remembered and honored. This day will continue in the hearts and minds of every American. This day shall never be forgotten. NMAH Story: Flag Did you fly an American flag after the events of September 11th? Have your feelings about the American flag changed as a result of September 11th? Yes, we placed American flags outside in our yard. We placed a flag on our vehicles. The appreciation for "Our Country" has been rejuvenated. It's sad we had to lose so many lives to help restore those feelings instilled by our forefathers.
