NMAH Story NMAH Story: Story How did you witness history on September 11th? Share your experience. I was at work in a small office in Greensboro, NC. I had volunteered to be locked up for the MD drive we were having in town. I was still collecting my bail money to donate when someone said to turn the TV on a plane had hit the World Trade Center. We all watched in disbelief the news replaying the plane slamming into the building. It was totally unbelieveable. I remember crying and feeling helpless that I couldn't do something. It was extremely difficult to concentrate on work the rest of the day. I just kept thinking My God what is going on. NMAH Story: Life Changed Has your life changed because of September 11, 2001? If so, tell us how. I think so but in subtle ways. I still get on airplanes to visit my parents in Canada but I'm alittle nervous. I am more selfish about the time I spend with my son. I don't feel like I have to clean up everything before we can play and a lot of chores go undone. I'm less forgiving of people who complain about the little things, especially if they have control over them. I pray more for guidance and wait for God's answer. NMAH Story: Remembered What do you think should be remembered about September 11th? That this should be the beginning of the end of terrorism. That these people did not die in vain. That this country is a country of action and convictions. Buildings are replaceable and less important than people. The American spirit is in each and everyone not the buildings or planes that were destroyed. NMAH Story: Flag Did you fly an American flag after the events of September 11th? Have your feelings about the American flag changed as a result of September 11th? I am Canadian and my husband is American. We fly both the Canadian and US flags at our home and have for years.
