It was Labor Day and my friends and I decided to take a ride to New York and visit The Statue of Liberty. We paid for our tickets and got on the boat. The skyline was awesome and after spending time at The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, we have agreed to come back in a couple of days to visit. I have taken tons of pictures of the skyline, Ellis Island, The Statue of Liberty and The World Trade Center. When I got home from New York,(I live in Connecticut)My friend called to tell me that her father passed away. I was shocked. The funeral arrangements have been made and it was taking place on Tuesday, September 11th. On September 10th, I had my pictures developed and they looked postcards! That tragic morning, I decided to work for a few hours and leave to attend the funeral. A friend of mine in Boston called to tell me that a plane crashed into the World Trade Center and I figured that it was human error. Then everyone here at my job was crying and screaming. I got really scared and tried to log on the internet and it wouldn't let me on. I left worked early and went to the funeral. I have never been so scared in my life. Being that I work at a Ivy League university, I thought they were coming here to attack Connecticut. I prayed for everyone and hope a disaster like thid doesn't happen again. NMAH Story: Remembered What do you think should be remembered about September 11th? I have pictures of the New York skyline looked. I was there 8 days before it was attacked. I have negatives in case anyone wanted pictures. NMAH Story: Flag Did you fly an American flag after the events of September 11th? Have your feelings about the American flag changed as a result of September 11th? I was flying a flag and I had a candle lit.
