NMAH Story NMAH Story: Story How did you witness history on September 11th? Share your experience. As I was sitting in my second period class at Douglas Southall Freeman High School, I heard everyone talking about what happened. I had no idea! I asked one of my teachers and she told me. It felt like someone drew a knife through my stomach. We watched television all day during school. I couldnt believe my eyes or my ears. This was something so absurd and unimaginable that I couldnt understand how another human being could do that. All day I was daydreaming of those who had lost their lives and their families. When I got home if finally caught up to me. I sat on my bed watching the news. Tears were going down my eyes. I was in hysteria. Even though I didnt have family or friends that were hurt, my heart still ached for those who did have someone. After a while I realized that we shouldnt remember their death but their precious life and know that they were somebodys parent, husband/wife, boss, and most of all friend. This day will never be forgotten. It will be a remembrance for anyone who has seen or heard about it. It changed their lives and so did mine. NMAH Story: Life Changed Has your life changed because of September 11, 2001? If so, tell us how. My life has changes tremendously since September 11, 2002. I was born in Yugoslavia and moved to the United States when I was 11 years old. Now I am 18 and finally settled in a place I can call home. I spent more of my time here growing up, then anywhere else in the world. If someone asked me where my home is, Id say here in the U.S. The tragedy that took place on September 11th made me grow even more and realize that we are all a family who loves and supports each other in the good times and the bad. We are one! NMAH Story: Remembered What do you think should be remembered about September 11th? September 11th should be remembered not for the bad, but for the good that came out of everything. Many people died & innocent lives were lost, but we all pulled through it and became a stronger nation. Terrorist should know now that they can never destroy our love for each other and our United States of America. NMAH Story: Flag Did you fly an American flag after the events of September 11th? Have your feelings about the American flag changed as a result of September 11th? After the September 11th event I think me & the rest of the United States flew a flag. It didnt matter whether it was on their house, cars, clothes, or anything else for that matter. I still carry a flag on my car to let everyone know that I do remember what happened and that I will never forget it. My feelings for the American flag only became stronger since September 11th, never anything less.
