NMAH Story: Story
In the early morning of September 11, I was awakened by my mom yelling about a plane that had crashed into the World Trade Center. I was shocked by the news and stumbled out of bed still half asleep to see the live footage of the first tower flaming and bellowing smoke across the New York skyline. Shortly thereafter, the second tower was hit, along with the Pentagon, and it was clear in all our minds that the United States was being attacked. My parents and I watched in awe as one and then the other tower collapsed. Seeing the horrific footage over and over made us both saddened and enraged. I went to school, still stunned by the events that had occurred, knowing that I would remember that day for the rest of my life.
