Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: I guess you could say that it was typical day for me. I got up and went to school. I remember sitting in my Political Science class and someone said that a plane had hit the WTC. I can remember saying "Oh I am sure that it's not a big plane." I am a American History major. I was thinking about the Empire State building plane crash in 1945. My teacher didn't seem to care about what was going on but when class was over he turned on the tv. It was at that moment I saw the North Tower collapsing. I was just standing there stunned. My jaw just fell to the floor and I started to sob. It took me a while to collect myself and I drove home from the college. Normally 321 highway going North is not very bad from Dallas to Lincolnton is a 20 minute drive. It took me an hour and a half to get into town. My drive home was at most the scariest time of my life. I had no idea what was going on if my family was safe or what. I remember listening to the radio and crying and repeating " God help the innocent people " Those words coming from me all the way home. My mother was a work and she too had a radio playing she was visible upset. She had me go and get my sister. I got my sister who was ten at the time and she was so upset that she kept asking my why this happen. I was eighteen and I felt completely helpless. To this day I still cry. My heart is with all of them and I do have family serving in the military. The only thing I hate about all this is that I will have to teach this to my students one day. Being young you never think that anything like Pearl Harbor could happen to you. Well my generation lost its security and became realistic to the world around us, a little over three months after graduation the real world had hit us hard. I still feel vunerable and I think I will always hold Sept.11 in a special way. God Bless America and the heroes of Sept.11th. My God watch over everyone.
