NMAH Story: Story
I live in Manassas, VA....About 20 miles from Washington, DC. I was holding my two week old son, rocking him to sleep when I heard the news. I turned on the TV right away and watched as the Towers burned. As I was watching a report came in about the Pentagon being hit as well. I looked down at my son, so innocent with his little hand wrapped around my index finger, and thought to myself "What kind of world have I brought him into?". We took my son to see his Grandparents for the first time. We sat watching the news, when my son's Grandfather told us that he was supposed to be there, where the plane hit the Pentagon that day. The only reason he wasn't there was because he had a doctor's appointment that morning.
NMAH Story: Life Changed
Yes, I think everyone's life has changed because of September 11, 2001. I think the United States, as a nation, has changed in many ways.
NMAH Story: Remembered
I think we should remember every detail of what happened. We should remember the lives that were lost, and the families they left behind. We should also remember for the children of this country, because years from now they're going to read about it in History books, and they will have many questions for us.
NMAH Story: Flag
Yes. I fly my flag with pride, love, and hope for this country. And I am glad to see that others are doing the same.
