NMAH Story NMAH Story: Story How did you witness history on September 11th? Share your experience. Well, what I can say first and foremost is that that day will surely live in infamy. It just felt like a regular, ordinary day where I would wake up, get dressed, have some breakfast, and then go to school. As I arrived at school, and as the day progressed in to about 2/8ths of the day, my high school principal got on the loud speaker and announced what had happened to the WTC. At first, and to be honest, I had no idea what those initials meant. As a matter of fact, I thought that the intials had no importance to me or even any other student, at all. I then asked a friend: "so what's the big deal all about?". Little did I know, the answer that came to me was America's heart of the economy. That moment I felt as if I was just stunned by Stone Cold himself. Later on in the day, I was informed more about the situation. Two planes, two planes, going into each of the towers?!...Unheard of. Numbers started coming up to my attention too, and they were very, very scary. Nearly over a thousand people died instantaneously. That whole entire day was simply a rush of fear and a rush of security. At home that day however, I tuned in to the television and saw images of it. Chills went down my spine constantly and feveriously. The plane going inside....no...crashing into a building, which is probably one of the tallest buildings in the world! Was it unbelievable? Yes, but in the sense of a wrongdoing or simply an act of pure sin. All I can say is that that day will always be a day of magnitudinal remembrance, and of reflection... NMAH Story: Life Changed Has your life changed because of September 11, 2001? If so, tell us how. Life has changed for me, not tremendously or not one bit, but is has changed for me. By just not dwelling upon the details of the day, whenever I come to think of 9/11, images flash through my mind of chaos and fatality. However I see that the country is stronger than ever before, and I'm not talking about the resources. I'm talking about the people, coming together with a great sense of unity and teamwork. Power in my mind, comes to me and I can feel the unity myself. This question comes to mind however. Was 9/11 a wake up call for America? I do believe so. There is no doubt in mind that the day itself, regardless of the killings(God Bless Their Souls), and the overall destruction, is a day that just made us, well, stronger. That is a good feeling. Actually, that is a great feeling and to be honest with you, I feel that way whenever I'm done reflecting upon the tragic event. NMAH Story: Remembered What do you think should be remembered about September 11th? I believe, not think, but believe that each and every person that helped out on that day, should be remembered and recognized. Everything else about that day should be remembered too. It was a long day that day and a lot of things went down, but the event a whole should be remembered, but the aftermath of it. That is the soothing part. As that moment arrived, it was all over, but it won't be forgotten. NMAH Story: Flag Did you fly an American flag after the events of September 11th? Have your feelings about the American flag changed as a result of September 11th? I didn't fly one, but I did get stickers of it. The flag howvever has changed its image though. Whenever I look at that flag, an overwhelming feeling comes over me. It's that feeling of toughness and chisel. The flag seems to have this appearance of "you do not wanna mess wit' me!". Realistically however, the flag is invincible. Quite frankly and honestly, I love the flag now. It is as if the flag went back to the drawing boards, got polished and the turnout was simply breath-taking!
