Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: The morning of September 11, 2001 was like every other morning. I pulled into parking space number 132 at my high school and walked up the hill to my first period class. I went to my locker, chose the correct book and then went into american government. I found my seat and began talking with a close friend. This is what I did every morning except unlike every other morning, the television in my classroom was on. Then, I (with the rest of the class) saw a replay of first plane as it smashed into the World Trade Center. It got very quite. At the exact moment, most of us were already at school and knew nothing of the attack. We just sat there. My friend and I stopped our conversation trying to comprehend what was going on. That day, it was as if school had stopped. When I would go into the hallway, I saw teachers frantically walking around talking to one another. Some of them were saying, "What are we going to do now? This is bad." Those teachers sure were not helping to make things better for the students. That afternoon, the Red Cross Youth Group began taking donations to send to New York. This deffinately made things better for me because it got my mind off of the attack. I want to Wal-Mart and bought things to put in the box to send to those who needed them. I gave blood the follwing week (as I am sure most Americans did). Our school, our community dealt with this together. When I graduated in May 2002, I felt closer to my peers than I ever had before. Now every time I see the American Flag, I always remember Sept.11, 2001. Honestly, I think I am still too uneducated to really understand what Sept.11 really means.
