Another Side, Another Story The phrase Nothing exciting ever happens was very untrue the morning of September 11th, 2001. I remember waking up early, just like every other morning and going through the normal steps of the morning. For some reason my dad just randomly turned on the TV. The funny thing is that my dad is very against watching TV in the morning… So I found it weird to see him click on the power, but the first thing we saw, was the close up of the attack. It seemed as if it were in slow motion… I saw a giant metal bird fly into the tower… Flames and thick clouds of dust flashed through the sky. I didnt feel the shock of it all until my dad commented with Oh my God. It was at that moment that I felt the rush of understanding. I understood what was happening; I understood all the deaths that were going to take place. Im pretty sure that my mouth was just hanging open at the site of the destruction. It was a lot to take in. Time seemed to stop for a bit before I saw my dad run around through the halls to go wake up my mother. She was just as shocked, even her semi-awake state. As much as I wished to stay home, I went to school. I walked around, listening to peoples comments. This is like this generations Pearl Harbor! Thats the one that stuck out the most. The rest of the day was filled with rumors, fears and superstitions. People came up with more stories, but I didnt want to listen. It was a dark day… deep in the thoughts of everyone.
