NMAH Story NMAH Story: Story How did you witness history on September 11th? Share your experience. My name is Eric Kebbel. I was at school when the tragic events happened. It was second period when the first plane hit; however, I didn't know what had happened until fourth period at about 10:00 a.m. When it first happened,pur principal came over the intercom and told the teachers not to turn on their televisions. In fourth period my history teacher finally told us what had happened. I never saw any coverage until I got home at 3:30 p.m. My mom and two sisters were sitting tere watching the coverage. I didn't leave the tv for the rest of the day. NMAH Story: Life Changed Has your life changed because of September 11, 2001? If so, tell us how. This is something that I will tell my grand children about. I have learned that we can't take things for granted, even in the United States. I also learned that people are not afraid to attack us. That we must spend time and money protecting our borders and seeking out and destroying our enemies. Finally, I learned that tragedies such as this do not pull Americans apart, as the terrorists thought, but they pull Americans together as one big, grieving family. NMAH Story: Remembered What do you think should be remembered about September 11th? I think that the lives of all the innocent people that were killed should be remembered. Also, the lives of all the heroes who die dwhile trying to save people. The passengers of United Flight 93 should be remembered as heroes for not letting the hijackers get the plane to where they wanted it to go. We should remember that we will always have enemies and that we must protect our borders against them. We should remember the rescue effort that went on. Finally, we should remember that Americans will always come out on top. NMAH Story: Flag Did you fly an American flag after the events of September 11th? Have your feelings about the American flag changed as a result of September 11th? Yes, my family flew American flags after the events. My feelings have changed a lot because of the events. The flag now symbollizes freedom, perseverence, and power. Also, I remember September 11, 2001 every time I see the flag.
