<text>I woke up that morning after the attacks had already happened. I didn't know anything until one of my good friends came running up to me as I was getting on the elevator to go to class, she asked me if I was watching the news, when I told her that I hadn't watched the news at all she told me the whole story. Attending class that morning was difficult, to say the least. As soon as I could I made my way to the cafeteria which had a television in it. As I walked in I noticed that I was not the only one with a look of complete and total disbelief. Right then I witnessed the first tower fall. No one in the entire cafeteria said a word. Now if you can imagine a university cafeteria filled with around 200 students at the time so quite you could here a pin drop, that is what it sounded like. I also saw so many tears. Even from myself. I couldn't understand why or how this could have happened. Just as all of that was happening I remembered that one of my close friends that I had made while at college was from New York, she lived just minutes away from the towers and both her parents worked in the towers, I went rushing to the dorm. I found her in her room, basically in hysterics. I mean, how would you feel being in Texas, so far away from all of that, yet knowing that so many of the people and family you knew were right there. I spent about 3 hours with her, helping her find out about family and friends. We were using about 5 cell phones and 3 telephones tryong to get through. While I was with her we did find out that her mom, dad, and little brother were ok. However a close friend of the family that she baby sat for, his parents were both killed. When I left her room I was so numb. The first thing I thoought to do when I got in my room, was to call my mom. I talked to my mom for about an hour. We cried and sometimes just sat on the phone in silence together. When I finally got to see my boyfriend of 3 years that day I was really worried, the only thing that came to my mind was what if they reinstate the draft. So I was going through my mind trying to play out scenarios so he wouldn't have to go. For example, I told him that if they do start the draft again I would take him out back and shoot off a toe. They couldn't possibly take him if he was missing a toe, right? But then I decided that I really shouldn't worry about that right then. September 11th 2001 was a day filled with so many different emotions for me. I knew immediately that the world had changed. But as of yet, I don't know if it was for the worse or better. One day this will be in the history books and I will say to the children of that time that I was there and many villans and HEROES were born that day. Those HEROES will never ever be forgotten.</text>
