NMAH Story NMAH Story: Story How did you witness history on September 11th? Share your experience. on the day the of the attacks, i was at school. during my third period class i was suddenly checked out. at first i thought i had an appointment that my mom had forgotten to tell me about, but as i walked down the hallway, i noticed a lot of the teachers bunched in a couple of rooms standing near the television and crying or staring blankly. as i was gathering my stuff, i thought of reasons why the televisions were on. on my way to the parent office to check out, i stopped andnoticed on one of the television screens two buildings burning, and then falling. the meraning of it all didn't hit me until i saw my mother's face as i came towards her. i asked her what was wrong, and she said that two planes had crashed into the twin towers in new york. now at that time i had no idea what the twin towers' importance was, so you could say i had no idea of what was going on. mom told me everything that had happened that morning. and when i finally realized what had happened, i asked her why she checked me out then. she reminded me that my uncle was in the army. and i finally started to get scared, for i was afraid that something would happen to my uncle if he was told to go help. when we got home, i turned the television on and watched the news the rest of that day. and all that time i kept getting a clearer idea of what was going on around me (for i had still no idea of how his affected me). and when the day ended, i took it all in and prayed for all the people who lost family and friends, and that we would pull through this ok. in the end, i know we will:) NMAH Story: Life Changed Has your life changed because of September 11, 2001? If so, tell us how. since the event of the attacks, life for me has been the same, in a matter of speaking. i still have the same amount of patriotism as i have had before it, and still treat people the way i've always treated them. on the other hand though, i make sure that i say good bye everyday before i leave for school , and i don't forget to say "i love you" to my parents. and i do have a different attitude towards how i live my lifeand that i should do everytihng i can and treasure the precious moments. other than that, nothing else has changed. NMAH Story: Remembered What do you think should be remembered about September 11th? ithink that everything from the attacks should be remembered, for it gives us the strength to carry on and gives us meaning when we really need one. NMAH Story: Flag Did you fly an American flag after the events of September 11th? Have your feelings about the American flag changed as a result of September 11th? no.my feeling about the american flag have sort of changed since the attacks, for i take more pride towards it andi know what it represents.
