I've lived in and traveled in many countries around the world and survived more than my share of terroristic attacks and bombings. This one seems different though because I've never experienced a threat in the States, I always thought of the States as the "safe zone" that I could easily return to and not have to worry for the safety of my family and friends. September 11 brought back many emotions and memories from my past in both bombings and kidnappings in the Philippines and the Gulf War when I lived in Saudi Arabia. Having been through similar events I was able to cope much easier and help others understand what was happening but having an attack so close to home caught me off guard.
