NMAH Story NMAH Story: Story How did you witness history on September 11th? Share your experience. I was in my office when a co-worker told me the horrible news. We immediately went to the conference room where we have a tv. I watched and prayed as I witnessed this ungodly sight. I thought how can I help, what can I do? I felt helpless and frustated. I'm sure prayers did help the survivor and their families. NMAH Story: Life Changed Has your life changed because of September 11, 2001? If so, tell us how. My life has changed for the better, because I live now as though my life could end today. I try to never say or do anything that I will regret. I may occasionally fail, but I will keep trying to make others life better because I am here. I also try to make people laugh on a daily basis. I laugh at myself more often than I previously did, and I find myself laughing quite a lot. I tried to go in a restaurant with my umbrella still open, I still receive a chuckle every time I think of it! I have watched America unite together as only a country as great as American can. Flags flying have let the entire world know that terrorists have made our heart bleed, but we are still standing tall and have learned a valuable lesson about divided we fall and united we stand. NMAH Story: Remembered What do you think should be remembered about September 11th? The most important way that 9/11 should be remembered is that we are strong and can become stronger in spite of the terrible loss of life. We need to depend on God more than we have in the past. Our American history is built on: In God We Trust. Our money has that motto and God is a great part of our heritage. We should be tolerant of other people's religious beliefs, but the majority should rule about what is in the courthouses including the Ten Commandants and saying the Pledge of Allegiance, including "Under GOD", whenever it is appropriate." NMAH Story: Flag Did you fly an American flag after the events of September 11th? Have your feelings about the American flag changed as a result of September 11th? Yes I flew an American flag after September 11th. I have always respected and love the country and tradition that the American flag stood for. I still love and receive goose bumps when I hear the Star Spangled Banner or America the Beautiful. Keep those American flags flying, I love it!
