I was feeling what I think many of us were feeling, a tremendous amount of sadness and disbelief, I was woke at 10am in the morning by my mom screaming over the telphone to turn on the tv. There it was a nightmare, our countries freedom was attacked by terrorists. It was selfish but I thought it's my birthday today, I can't believe it. My significant other was very distraught, Manhattan was where she grew up and her family lives there today. Her sister and her brother work around and in the World Trade Center. Thank the Lord that her siblings were not at work that day. For hours we panicked trying to get ahold of our family in Manhattan. Everytime I think about September a million emotions run through my mind. I think why such a thing could happen to so many innocent human beings. NMAH Story: Life Changed Has your life changed because of September 11, 2001? If so, tell us how. I feel that my life is forever changed because my birthday is September 11th and I will always be constantly reminded and hold a place in my heart for the people and their families who suffered through this horrible trajedy. NMAH Story: Remembered What do you think should be remembered about September 11th? I think the most important thing for us to remember is how even in such a horrible trejedy we pulled together to help one another and bring one another comfort. I will not only celebrate my birthday on september 11th but how we came together a nation. We must never forget how many people we lost that fateful day. Just as important, we need keep the special bond we share that is being free and being Americans so that we can stay indestructible to attacks such as September 11, 2001. NMAH Story: Flag Did you fly an American flag after the events of September 11th? Have your feelings about the American flag changed as a result of September 11th? Actually I have always showed my patrism for my country. July 4, 2001 I did a chalk drawing contest at my college paying tribute to this great country of ours. After September 11,2001 my love for my country just got stronger and more announced than ever.I feel the American flag represents who we are as human beings and it will always be that way.
