NMAH Story NMAH Story: Story How did you witness history on September 11th? Share your experience. Every morning I wake up and turn on the news while getting ready for school. That morning on september 11, 2001 I woke up at 5:30am, turned on the tv, and saw two building, one on fire. I remember thinking it wasn't a big deal I was still half asleep. I went back to bed and woke up an hour later looking at the tv. When I realized what I happened I ran to my mother and father and shouted, "We are being attacked!". My family ran to the tv and we all sat and watched in fear. I remember sitting there thinking who would do this? Why would anyone want to harm people that didn't do anything wrong? What is happening to the United States? My family was cowering in fear, worrying about our family back east. I remember my father calling his work saying he wasn't going. My mother calling our family seeing if they are ok. I remembering watching people fall out of buildings, seeing people scream for help, and I began to cry. When I cried I wasn't bawling it was a cry of sadness, I couldn't start bawling I was in a state of shock that my tears came down so slowly and my heart was pounding so quickly. The only thing I could say was "What have we done wrong?". NMAH Story: Life Changed Has your life changed because of September 11, 2001? If so, tell us how. My life will never be the same. I learned to live life to the fullest, and not let other people control my life by bombing us or thinking that I will live my life in fear. I will not step down to the level of lossing self-control. NMAH Story: Remembered What do you think should be remembered about September 11th? I think we should remember you never know when life is over. Do what you wish with life, just don't waist it. NMAH Story: Flag Did you fly an American flag after the events of September 11th? Have your feelings about the American flag changed as a result of September 11th? I did fly an American flag and I feel that all homes should have flags flown everyday.
