NMAH Story: Story
I was in school at the time of the attacks. A teacher came into our history class and told us to turn on the TV, that a plane had just hit the World Trade Center. At the time we did not know it was a terrorist attack. Then we saw the other plane circle around and hit the building. It was unreal, like something out of a movie. Fear struck everyone in the room, including our teacher. A few minutes later a report came from the Pentagon saying there was a loud explosion. At first we all thought it was a bomb. Later we learned it was another plane. I knew something terrible was happening because the reporters and the people at the building had a sense of fear in their voice and in their eyes. It sent a shiver down my spine to hear the people at ABC yell "Oh my God." The pentagon attack also hit home for me because A friend of mine has a sister who works there. We didn't find out untill later in the day that she had off that day. I was walking to my next class when the towers fell. It did not seem real. It almost seemed like a movie or a dream. I knew the world would never be the same. Even months later, when i went to Ground Zero, it still made you somber. The giant whole was once a great building and now its gone forever.
