As I wittnessed the horror of the WTC I wondered weather any of my family escaped for they had a commodity exchange in tower 2, then I wondered if any of the rookies I trained in NYPD were there and why was this happening? I now live in Florida and retired from NYPD (LOD) and a combat vet of the Vietnam War, after the second plane crashed into the the WTC I knew we were at war. But the answer I was looking for was with who, who did we harm so bad that they would do this to us. I watched and my mind automatically switched to a combat mode, no feeling, first call my sister in law and see if everyone got out, yes they did. Second get though to Chris my buddy on the JOB (NYPD) to see if he and the boys were alright it took hours, and they what could I do for them. Several times I turned to the GOD of my understanding and asked why? I prayed for the fireman and cops and EMT workers who never would see another sunset, Vietnam all over, the nightmares came back, like a VCR tape that never ends, the days as a cop in the south bronx, the homicides the killing of cops the funerals all to real yet sleep wouldn't come for seven days. I was completely powerless, then it came, SLEEP, afterwhich I saw my buddy a marine doctor who helped me over this. I've been all over the world, place where normal people do not go in search of American POW's, and a son of an immigrant family always realized that we are the greatest country mankind has ever known. We are always there to help other country's in time of disaster, food, clothes, shelther and money, and why would some country do this to us? Why must I come to understand anothers way of life? My parents were dirt poor immigrants who learned the American way of life and raised seven childen to love this great Repubic.
