NMAH Story NMAH Story: Story How did you witness history on September 11th? Share your experience. Thinking it was a beautiful morning, i grabbed my cereal and sat down to watch tv. i wanted i see what the wheather would be like. I tuned into channel four, and to my horror, i learnt that a plane hit one of the towers of the world trade center. i was dumbfounded i had no clue what was happening. I was listening to a news caster when all of a sudden a second plane hits the south tower. I was absolutely terrified. i thought maybe this was a joke. i knew this would never happen as an accident. Then my mind started to work and i realized this was a terrorist group. I then recalled that in 1993 there was also a previous bombing in the basement of the world trade center, and it was caused by the radical group known as AL Qaeda, whose leader was Bin Laden. This was just a theory i didn't realize this man would try again after not succeding the first time. I was furious no one has the right to take life into their own hands. I wanted this man dead. I was shocked at the nuber of lives that were going to be lost, there's no way this inccident could be justified. NMAH Story: Life Changed Has your life changed because of September 11, 2001? If so, tell us how. My life has changed in the sense that i am more sympathetic to the people aroud me, wondering if they will die tomorrow and if i won't see them again. I also realized that this country was truly blessed in the sense that everyone had the ability and strength to reach t6o the families that have lost their loved ones. People became friends through this tragedy. We as a country took more this tragedy than one can imagine. We found friendship and love in death. We found patrioticism, in a time need, and we found unity in time of division. I feel priviliged that i am in a country that cares for me. John F. Kennedy once said "Ask not what you're country can do for you but what you can do for your country." these words hit me hard after 9/11. Took J.F.K 's advice, and mi helpeed my country buy giving a shoulder to cry on, buy lending my ears to listen, and buy using my mouth for comfort. NMAH Story: Remembered What do you think should be remembered about September 11th? The true heroes should be remembered, and i am not talking about just firefighters and police officers. I am talking about the common man, and the people that died for their country. Not many people recognize the common man as hero, but they are. By holding signs, attending vigils, and feeling another man's pain. I was thirteen when this disaster struck and i will always remember this age, because i was mature enough to fee for my country. In a way this tragedy was blessing in disguise because eventhough the whole world hates this country, I know i will always love my adopted country. It's ironic that i love a country that i have immigrated to rather then then country that i was born in. I will always be an Indian, but my love for America exceeds the love for India. NMAH Story: Flag Did you fly an American flag after the events of September 11th? Have your feelings about the American flag changed as a result of September 11th? My family and i did fly an American flag. The flag changed my point of view, because it showed that people where still full of courage and bravado even after the consequences of 9/11. The flag is this country. We as a country held our heads up high exactly like the flag.
