NMAH Story NMAH Story: Story How did you witness history on September 11th? Share your experience. On September 9th I was in school. While walking to 3rd period I heard a kid yell "The twin towers have been attacked!". I had no idea what he was talking about and I got curious. But, in 3rd period no one knew what had happened. In 4th period, my history teacher told us that 2 planes high-jacked had ran into the Twin Towers and one plane had hit the Pentagon. The one thing that I remember most is my friend Rachel's story. She was supposed to go modeling that day after school in a building right next to the World Trade Center (she would have died). What if the terrorists decided to make thier attack a few hours later I kept thinking? But, then I started to think of all the people who were not as fortunate, and lost family members. As Franklin Roosevelt said about Pearl Harbor, I also believe that 9-11-01 is "A day that will live in infamy". NMAH Story: Life Changed Has your life changed because of September 11, 2001? If so, tell us how. The one way 9-11-01 affected my life most is that it basically brought me to reality. Being brought up, I always heard that the U.S. is untouchable. Everyone considered Pearl Harbor the last suprise attack that would ever happen on America (we are jsut to powerful and no one can pull it off). But, look how easy it was for these men to board a plane, take it over, and crash into some of the most respected buildings in the U.S. I now will always fear terrorism. Since then I have flown once, and I honestly was scared. How couldn't you be? NMAH Story: Remembered What do you think should be remembered about September 11th? The one thing that I believe should be remembered most about this horrible day in American history is those firemen when worked so hard to save anyone they could. That took alot of dedication and courage. Also we obviously should remember that America is not untouchable. Any day something horrible could happen to us again. This date should remind us of what terrorism is, and make us always cautoius of it. We should always fear terrorism, fight to stop it, and most importantly never underestimate.
