Our athletic coach Mrs.Peggy McDonald told us that an airplane had hit the world trade center. I will never forget the look on everyone 's faces when we heard the terrible news. I have learned to never take one breath for granted and to always be grateful to live in the United States.I now have gained a tremendous amount of respect for the flag and the pledge of alleigence. The people who were working in the World trade Center thought that September,11 was just another day at work,but they ended up losing their lives on that tragic day. Have your feelings about the American flag changed as a result of September 11th? yes, after 9-11 I wrote this poem to express my feelings. I hold in my hand.... Proudly, I hold in my hand an American flag symbolizing freedom an equality among all who dwell in this land. We have been left with questions asking ourselves how and why? Losing loved ones senselessly, healing as much as we mourn and cry. Rebuilding our lives one step at a time. We've watch trafedies come and go, but high above, the flag still stands waving boldy, to and fro. Surely, I will tell you this, we will band together and endure it through, because we are Americans and that is what we do.
