Keith, Ben,

Wow. For the last few hours, I've been numb. Where
are you all right now? Give me a status report.

The magnitude of today's tragedy is national. But all
I can think about is the weekend before last.

It was almost dawn, coming back from our night dancing
at Webster Hall. I had with me my two boys of the
evening, it was late and it was a softly quiet. The
boys were tired and wanted to go home. But I wanted a
moment.

I asked them to walk with me down the street to the
river. We sat on a bench, arms around each other,
stunned by the colors of dawn reflecting on the World
Trade Center. It was a breathtaking image that will
stay in my mind.

Eight days later, thousands of people lost their lives
in a catastrophe.

I've been a wreck all day. I can only imagine how
much worse it must be back home.

Love,
Joshua
