Friends....
I was out on the wave wall looking at the fire from the first crash, and apparently witnessed the fireball from the second one, without quite knowing what I'd been seeing.... it is pretty jolting... a lot of people died in a split second, sprayed with aviation fuel 1/4 mile high
Other neighbors saw plan #2 circle and hit the WTC.
We are fine, but phone service is eratic, the city it locked down and we're just going to have to wait until things lighten up a bit... we may try to out of the city to NJ if we can.... at least until things become a slight bit more normal.
My wife, who works 2 blocks from the WTC has just called... she is ok but walking home (the length of Manhattan).
The offices at Hudson Street, where a lot of switches are, are probably swamped... getting a dial tone is iffy right now.... so my participation in the 1PM call is also iffy.
If there is any humor in this, it is that Gulliani put his bomb bunker in the World Trade Center....
