Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: I was calling a friend about taking our daughters to the beach that morning. She immediately told me a plane had just flew into one of the WTC towers. In disbelief, I turned on the television in time to see the second plane hit. Having grown up in Connecticut, I visited the WTC several times during school trips. I can still remember taking the large elevators to the observation deck with tall glass windows overlooking the entire city, and beyond. Watching those buildings fall, knowing there were many people still trapped inside, was heart wrenching. During my military career, I actually worked in the Pentagon. I had always thought that was one of the safest and well protected buildings to be in. It was quite a shock to see that building also damaged. I'm so proud of the passengers and crew on flight 93 who had the courage and determination to prevent that plane from hitting it's intended target. They willingly risked their own lives, thus saving the lives of others. I also have so a lot respect for the men and women who had the horrific task of recovering the remains, working round the clock. I still can't comprehend just how cruel anyone can be - to use our own passenger planes with innocent people onboard as weapons in our country. I pray it will never be repeated. May God bring comfort to the family and friends who lost those they love that day and help them move on with their own lives. God bless the USA.
