Description
This sign was posted in a window on 9th avenue and 19th Street for the thousands of people who were walking home from downtown on 9/11 (and walking was the only option - no transport or taxis were running). People had to walk to Brooklyn, Upper West or East sides. At Chelsea Piers, boats had been taken over to transport people home to New Jersey.
