A plume of smoke rises from the crash site of Flight 93 in Somerset County, PA. Before I changed companies in 1998, I used to fly United Airlines on business about ten times a month. Although I usually flew out of Hartford (CT), it was a stark reminder. I applaud the heros of flight 93 - even knowing you are saving others, it take courage, honor, and determination to do what they did. They went out fighting, and by doing so they may have saved countless others and spared a symbol of democracy and freedom from destruction. I frequently volunteer to give blood. I was scheduled to show up in Branford that evening to donate. When I got there I was turned away - the red cross had brought only enough supplies to take blood from the scheduled people plus a few "walk-ins."
