This is a discriminatory position, and certainly not one in keeping with the spirit of naitonal unity people embraced after September 11th. The partners of gays and lesbians lost loved ones just like everyone else, and now is the time to say to those who lost loved ones that we as a society value them and that their loved ones did not die only so that gays and lesbians could be discriminated against further. Being generous with this fund is the right thing to do. I hope the government will do the right and decent thing.
