Victims Compensation Fund

To Whom It May Concern:

I object 150% to taxpayer dollars being used to "compensate" victims of anything other than government negligence.

You have created an open door that will now force this policy to be applied to virtually any and every natural or man made disaster in the years ahead.

The private sector has always done an outstanding job providing care, comfort, and financial assistance to victims of disasters in this country. THERE WAS NO NEED FOR THE US GOVERNMENT TO BECOME INVOLVED!!! This is clearly a political program designed to enhance incumbents abilitiy to stay in office. Nothing more.

Why are my tax dollars being used to support illegal aliens? THESE PEOPLE DO NOT BELONG HERE. THEY ENTERED THIS COUNTRY ILLEGALLY! NOW WE ARE GOING TO SUPPORT THEM WITH TAXPAYER DOLLARS??? And not only are we going to support them, BUT WE ARE GOING TO DO SO WITHOUT ANY RISK OF PROSECUTION OR RETURN TO THEIR COUNTRY OF ORIGIN???

I have been a supporter of the Red Cross and other charities for years. After 09/11 I opened my heart and wallet and made several VERY generous donations to the Red Cross and other charities providing support to the victims. Now I find that my fine government is going to spend my tax dollars to do the same and in some cases make these people VERY wealthy indeed? YOU MAY REST ASSURED THAT MY DAYS OF CONTRIBUTING TO CHARITIES ARE OVER!!!

These people are not "entitled" to anything but the generousity of their fellow countrymen. And, through charities we have met this need. Now these greedy people are complaining that that was not enough. Nopw even the extra money being given by the government "is not enough". THIS IS NONSENSE!

I lost close to 50% of my retirement fund due to the stock market volatility after 09/11. Thus, I suffered a loss also. Yet I am not whining or begging for my government's help. Perhaps that is my downfall. Virtually EVERYONE in this country was affected by 09/11 in some way. ARE YOU GOING TO COMPENSATE EVERYONE??

I guess by now you know that I am steadfast in my belief that you have entered territory that you should have stayed out of. Mark my words: This runaway train wil happen again. Victims of past and future disasters are going to sue to obtain like benefits. It is my belief that those payments should be made out of the salaries and properties of every leglisator who voted for this proposal.
