September 11 fund
Dear Director Zwick,
I am writing to you today to tell you how outraged I am that partners or children of gay men and women who died as a result of the terror attacks on September 11 are not entitled to the same benefits as heterosexuals.
Has the compassion and American spirit that we all felt after the attacks so quickly dissipated? What happened to the "we are all Americans" spirit that pervaded our society after September 11, was it just rhetoric?
I beseech you to reconsider your position and allow family members of homosexuals to receive the same consideration that families of heterosexual and illegal aliens do. After all, we are ALL Americans, race, gender, or sexual orientation should not matter. As a country, we should do nothing less. As a society we can do nothing less.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Individual Comment
